BERLENGAS' ISLANDS

The Berlengas Islands are located about 10 kilometers from the coast and are one of the best natural reserves in the world. The archipelago consists of three island groups: Berlenga Grande, Estelas and Farilhões.

The Berlenga Island is the largest of the three and during the summer months you can visit: Praia do Carreior, Berlenga's lighthouse and Forte de S. João Baptista. João Baptista. Moreover, there are several tours perfect for hiking lovers.

From the fortress you will enjoy magnificent views of the coast and Consolaçao beach. The Fortress of Peniche used to be the largest point of entry in Portugal by sea. Along its history, it had diverse uses but nowadays it is the City Museum.
